Reflection #17
This marks the end of Humans of UCVTS. I have prepared a short goodbye message to all the wonderful followers and supporters for this page. In one and a half week, I will be graduating and the due date for the presentation is next Monday. I had a wonderful time running Humans of UCVTS. A lot of people has told me they always wanted to run a page, but never had the courage to. I'm glad that 20% time allow me to have an excuse to push myself and get out of my comfort zone. I have met a lot of wonderful people who were willing to share their thoughts and opinions with the page. The process of this page was quite a easy effort and keeping to deadlines was helpful because of the constant support. I had a lot of fun with this project.

Reflection 16
Another week has passed with wonderful interviews of seniors on campus. I am reaching a weird coincidence that most of the seniors who are wearing college T shirts are from Uctech. I don't want to appear bias in my page, so I will put in an effort to seek out individuals in different schools. My process for finding an interviewee is if i see someone walking on campus or in the hallway, I will stop them. But now I am changing my process a bit to a more concentrated search for an interview. I still have 3 weeks left and I want to reach 20 posts. Currently I have 15. That means I have to post at least twice a week, but I think once I focus on this project, everything will come together.

Reflection 15
This week I was able to continue my routine of interviewing students and posting them to the page. After talking to my teacher, I have decided to continue my page dedicated to seniors and their last few days on campus. I think it will be an important and great memorabilia in the future. This page will be like a yearbook full of memories for when we were in high school. This motivates me even more to capture more moments as the final days are approaching. I still have about 4 weeks left in the school year and I need to keep my eyes open for when a student wears their college shirt, I can take a picture of them. I am excited that Humans of UCVTS has grown from 2 followers to now 130 followers with over 3,000 views. I never expected this to happen. Please check out the page in facebook https://www.facebook.com/humansofucvts/notifications/

Reflection 14
A nice thing that happened on the page is the support from parents. I was surprise to see so many likes and a couple comments from parents saying how the description of the photo are a accurate description of their child. I guess in the day and age of Facebook where once you are tagged, then everyone can see, that applies to your mom if you are friends with her on Facebook. I'm glad that the parents approved, which was one of my concerns because once a parents disapprove, I would have to change the format that I was creating the page. The evidence that my page has met a successful direction will allow me to further develop instead of starting back from base one.

Reflection 13
This week I hit mew milestone for the Humans of UCVTS page. After using the power of social media and friends, i was able to go over the 100 likes mark on my page. I find this really shocking because the first five posts that I posted had little over 10 views with maybe 1 or 2 likes. However, after my special theme focusing the page specifically on seniors, I was able to get more attention. I think for the remaining days of May, I will continue to photograph and interview seniors about their future plans. The audience are curious and are empathetic to the excitement for the new things to come. Because of the high amount of views, I am thinking of posting twice a week instead of once a week. however, May is a really busy time for seniors because or Prom, filed trips, and just holidays. I will try my best to engage the audience as much as possible.
Thank you and stay tune.

Reflection 12
This week I saw a huge success in my page. I dedicated the page to a month on Seniors starting on May 2nd, which is College Decision Day. I actively shared the page and my friends also shared the page. The page now have 86 followers, 1,405 views, and 320 participating views. i saw many positive comments and support for the seniors featured in the page. It is so fun to see the hard work for the past 2 months to be recognized by the campus. The followers still do not know that I am the person behind Humans of UCVTS and I would like to remain that way until I graduate. Please check out the link for inside peeks of a Senior's brain as well as the rest of the month featuring seniors.

Reflection 11
My goal for this page is to capture all of the aspects of campus life. I was able to add a club related post to the my growing collection of students on campus. This 20% time project can happen at any time and I need to be on the look out for it. The Newspaper Editor was handing out newsletters during lunch and she offered my friends and I a copy. I loved her enthusiasm therefore I decided to take her picture. Unlike some 20% time that has to be done as a routine or at a certain time, I have to constantly be on the look out for more pictures. Also, next week is College Decision Day, so I am excited to photograph the seniors and add that to the HoUCVTS page.

Reflection 10
So I have been able to feature my fashion post this week. I've encountered a unique situation where the person doesn't want to show her face but I was granted permission to post it anonymously. I'm excited to see a new side of interviewing such as privacy issues and other ethic issues that may arise from interviewing. I always make sure to let the interviewee know that the picture will be posted on Facebook on a public Humans of UCVTS page. Next week will feature a senior for the inside of a seniors head post!

Reflection 9
I was able to successfully update the page after a long hiatus of 2 weeks due to spring break. I'm sharing this page with my friends and hopefully more people can see it. I realized that the page I posted was never published when my friend tried to like the page and couldn't see it. So for the past 2 months where I thought people were able to go to the page was actually false. Now I am excited for the feedback of the page. I still have not executed my plan to have a focus theme for the pictures. I usually post 1-2 pictures a week, so instead of it calling a theme week, it would be a theme month. I plan on either choosing the senior month or fashion month because those are the most exciting. Stay tune to next week:)

Reflection 8
This week has been very busy for me because I just got back from spring break. Due to my absence from school this entire week, I was not able to go through with my plan to start a senior focus week. I hope that next week I will have the time to photograph the seniors to see how they feel about college acceptances and their time at UCVTS. Currently on my social media and during school, all my classmates are bubbling with excitement about committing to colleges or how they have to go visit the schools to make their final visits. I hope to capture the emotion and the thinking process of the seniors though my interview and questions. Please look forward to next week's edition.

Reflection 7
Because it's spring break, I have not been able to take any new pictures of the people because school is not in session. I should have planned ahead and took more pictures in advance so I would not have this random weeks of not posting. I am thinking that the week I come back from spring break, I will go all out and try to get the page up to 7 pictures. My next plan of action is to start sharing the page my friends and hopefully it can have more views. My spring break Humans of UCVTS work has included me making more interview questions and thinking of themes for a week. I mentioned earlier in another reflection that I would like to do a senior week to highlight the thoughts of seniors.
Here are some ideas for week themes (obviously not everything will actually be chosen):
1) Senior week
2) Hometown week
3) Culture week
4) Springbreak week
5) Aspirations week
6) Motivation week

Reflection 6
My project to interview seniors has been a bit delayed. It is hard to find people who would want to be interviewed. Another problem I am facing is that all of my pictures don't have any interesting content. I realized that because I keep asking the same questions over and over again, people are giving the same answers ( like how are you enjoying school or what they do in their free times). It seems there are always the standard I love school or the I don't have anything besides studying replies. So over spring break I want to brainstorm new questions to add a change to the page. The page is coming together beautifully and it is finally resembling something similar to Humans of New York.
I forgot to link the updates with the new pictures, please check out the new editions:

Reflection 5
I felt a strong connection with the people who I was able to interview. I realized that I don't really know the people on campus and this project has offered me the opportunity to explore and meet the underclassmen. I plan on interviewing seniors next time for a special editions week.

Reflection 4
I am slowly adding little bits of stories to my Humans of UCVTS facebook page. I have not been promoting my website because last week I only posted one photo. However, this week I posted two photos and the website is looking fuller. My goal is to reach 5 photos next week and I'll ask my friends to start promoting the website. Hopefully, more people will be able to see this website, but to do so, I need to interview more pictures that people can enjoy. I have covered most of the five schools on campus such as Magnet, AIT, and Allied. I still need to interview UCTech and APA to have a diverse representation of the school. I'm going to try for a more consistent posting dates, so I will be posting every Thursday or Friday. It's still hard to interview random strangers, but I hope with more practice I can improve.

Reflection 3
This week I was able to successfully interview one person. It was a very awkward encounter because it’s my first time. Luckily, I brought a friend to help take the pictures and he made the atmosphere very friendly. Together we were able to ask the questions. Some things I would like to improve is how the flow of the questions direct the conversation. During the interview, after I asked a question I would have a jumpy transition to the net topic. Also, some of the questions I ask to the interviewee seems hard and they can not answer. I hope to improve my interviewing skill, so I would not have to awkwardly have a conversation with a stranger. The first picture can be viewed here: https://www.facebook.com/humansofucvts/

Reflection 2
So for this week, I was able to partner up with my friend to take pictures. he has the equipment and skills to be able to recreate the style like Humans of New York. Tomorrow, we will be taking our first snapshot, so that's very exciting. I'm anxious and nervous as to how that will work. We are planning on just walking around during co and lunch to see who is walking around. We don't really have a plan on how to get a person, it will be a very spontaneous moment, but I think that's the magic of the whole project. The unmasking of that random girl you see in the hallway, or that senior who you always see but don't really know. Look forward to future updates.
Reflection 1
So to prepare for my first picture, I realized I need a plan on how to approach a person.
i came up with a simple 3 step plan.
1) Introduction: Simply ask if I can take their picture. if they seem interested, then I will explain why and what I'm taking their pictures for.
2) Picture: Smile!
3): Questions: You can't get the right quote just from one questions. Depending on how the conversation will flow, try to build off of what the interviewee provided.

Here are a list of questions I can ask:
- Hi, what’s your name?
- What grade and school are you?
- What were your happiest moments?
- What’s the difference between your school self and non-school self?
- What advice would you give to underclassmen?
- What are the bad things about __________(year)?
- What would you change about the way the country is run?
- What life motto do you go by?
- Who influenced you the most?
- What do you think you will be doing in 20 years?
- What clubs are you in?
- What challenges did you face when you came to UCVTS?
- Who’s your favorite teacher? Why? Any stories or experience?
- What’s your favorite class?
- What is your goal right now?

Proposal Semester 2
20 Time Brainstorming Guide
My 20 Time Project is going to be able to create an introspective view on the daily lives of the students on campus like the Humans of New York. My final product is to create a facebook page documenting the comments and life advice columns from the students’ everyday lives
There are many different types of “Humans of” pages from different countries that I can use for reference. There are different themes that resounds with each country like Korea focusing on change from tradition to modern and New York focusing on life stories. I would like to create a Humans of UCVTS focusing on life advice. https://www.postplanner.com/humans-of-facebook-pages-you-should-like-follow/
I believe finding the equipment for this project would be easy because I only needing a camera, laptop, and phone. However, finding people to interview and getting the courage to speak to different types of people to gather information. Also, during an interview it is important to follow through with the conversation by branching off of the interviewee’s responses. You can not memorize a script because everything is based off of the other person.
Most of the project will be done outside of the classroom. Finding the people will take place either during co or lunch. The project can be fairly distributed between class and time outside. Also, I can work on editing the interviews and descriptions during class time along with brainstorming new questions to ask can take place during class time.

Final Reflection
During this 20% time, I have been able to learn a lot and reflect on the process more than the final product. However, it was still nice to finally have a tangible product to show my classmates about what I have been dedicating my time to. During the presentation, it was very funny and special to see the reactions of the viewers and the engagement my classmates had after I presented my process. The lessons I’ve learned in this project such as having backup plans, time management, and being creative will help me in the future. It was a rewarding experience. For my future 20% time I hope I can learn as much as I did for this one.
Reflection 15
The last few stages of putting my animation together has been more stressful as my files have been crashing and none of my plans are working. Plan A was to just use subtitles, but then I reverted to Plan B of inserting clips of myself into the story to make it flow. When Animatron did not work or support the video I had to revert to Plan C of using voiceovers to still include that spice of my storytelling aspects. I'm glad I was able to think of methods to fix the new problems that arises from unexpected situations. An important skill I learned from being a leader to always think quickly on your feet, think of new methods that are available, and always prepare in advance. it became very evident in this project because my first goal changed so many times in order to meet the final product. I'm very excited to show this in my presentation.
