Reflection Week 17

My final 20%  Project was really fun. I enjoyed creating an outline for my future and I'm glad I put time and effort into it. Although I wish I could have added more things to my vision book, I really like the end product.

Reflection Week 17

Given that this will be my final reflection post, I decided to give the whole run around of the Part 2 20% Time Project. I had a great time creating the crafts and it will last in the long run; maybe, if my little cousins don't break them. I enjoyed doing this because when I was a kid I loved playing with toys that actually worked and moved. My little cousins will have a blast when they play with my toys.

REFLECTION 17.0

I decided to cook jollof rice independently; therefore this week I followed through with my decision. I followed the same procedure explained in the previous week and the jollof rice turned out fine. The rice was  was it good. Personally, if I had not cooked it and I could opt out of eating of it, I would eat  it. I understand that this quality was expected because I do not have a lot of experience cooking jollof rice. However, I will not give up and I will seek my mother's guidance to determine what I can improve because I am completely satisfied with  taste. Hopefully, I can improve this dish somehow.

Reflection #17

For my last reflection, I have a lot to say. Choosing fitness as my 20% time project was a great idea. I feel like I would have never gotten myself to workout if I did not have a real reason to. Having this being an assignment was great. It pushed me to get work done. I learned a lot about myself throughout this project and even noticed things that I never would have. I had always been involved in a sport and once I stopped , it really affected me. I completely stopped all athletic activity and noticed that I was getting very out of shape. That was not me at all. This project helped boost my confidence and get back to where I used to be. It was difficult to be consistent and make time to workout. I somehow managed to fit it into my day. It was also kind of tough working out a lone sometimes. I got used to it but it was nice to have a partner. I also did things that I never used to in the past when I was involved in sports. I started drinking A LOT more water and eating in ways that were appropriate for my body type. I learned about each body type and the importance if feeding them the right things. I now understand the true importance of water and the effectiveness of each workout. I am so glad that I chose this project and I am definitely going to work my hardest to keep up this healthy lifestyle.

Final New Reflection #17

This week, I am sad to say this will be my last reflection on the blog. I final found the song I wanted to play for the class. I won't say what it is until I play it during my presentation. I will say it's going to be a short song. I put a lot of effort into memorizing it. I hope you guys will enjoy my short performance. I enjoyed the project and I learned a lot. Thank You!

Reflection 17

Given the events early Sunday morning, I decided to make a final reflection post, which also kinda acted as a reflection on my opinion of the United States. I cemented my presentation this weekend, organized my talking points, and I'm looking forward to sharing all the things I learned and did with 20% time. There isn't much else to be said really; I'm done with highschool, and I'm done with this project, and it's crazy. The rest is just formalities.

Reflection 17

Well it looks like this is it. I honestly didn't think I was going to make it this far, but I did. I worked hard on my sweater, and although it isn't entirely finished I'm pretty proud of what I did. It doesn't exactly look the way it was supposed to. And well, I guess I have to admit that somewhere along the way I stopped following the instructions on the pattern and just did my own thing. I'm kind of excited to share what I got done. But to be honest, I'm more excited about the fact that I'm graduating in a week. This year went by so fast its crazy, but I feel like I learned a lot. I don't think I would have taken on knitting if it wasn't for this class.

Reflection 17

Well this marks the end of my second 20% Time. It's been a great experience baking for myself and others. I'm putting my presentation together and finishing my whole plan for it. I'm going to bring in cupcakes for the class, since I am rather busy today and cannot go all out for it. This was really enjoyable and I didn't feel like I was tied down to bake something. I found a love for baking and it might be my new hobby. I can't wait to continue baking even after this. It's really exciting and I have so many other recipes to make.

Reflection Week 17

This week I have been working on my presentation for 20% Time and deciding what parts of my vision book I want to display to the class.

Reflection #17 6/9

Kamryn
Intro to Humanities

My second semester 20% Project is going to be me learning to bake and cook many new things. SCHOOL IS COMING TO A CLOSING!!! It is time to start finals and graduate high school. This week I put together all the recipes and started to work on the final presentation. I am so excited to finish all these projects and finish out high school!! It is bitter sweet, but I am so ready to go. At home, I made more nachos this week because I was not in a good mood and nachos make me happy. The recipe was the same, except this time I used Tostitos tortilla bowl chips instead of the Doritos.

Reflection #17

This marks the end of Humans of UCVTS. I have prepared a short goodbye message to all the wonderful followers and supporters for this page. In one and a half week, I will be graduating and the due date for the presentation is next Monday. I had a wonderful time running Humans of UCVTS. A lot of people has told me they always wanted to run a page, but never had the courage to. I'm glad that 20% time allow me to have an excuse to push myself and get out of my comfort zone. I have met a lot of wonderful people who were willing to share their thoughts and opinions with the page. The process of this page was quite a easy effort and keeping to deadlines was helpful because of the constant support. I had a lot of fun with this project.

This week I started to work on my PowerPoint presentation for the final part of 20% Time. I started to gather all of the pictures that I took of the different meals I helped to prepare and putting them onto PowerPoint slides. For the part of the presentation in which I am going to talk about the bond that cooking forms, I was planning on just having a slide titled, “Cooking with my family” or something along those lines, but with no body text. I want to talk unscripted about my experience cooking with my family and what it meant to each of us. The presentation is coming along well and I am excited to finish it and present it to the class.

Reflection 17

This week, I am making my presentation for next week. I am very happy with my progress. I have a few unfinished drawings, and I am still deciding if I want to finish them for the presentation or if I just want to show the drawings that I have finished. I have been spending more time drawing at home, and I plan to include slides with pictures of the things I've created.

Reflection Week 16

Working on models, however I'm having some trouble configuring the DC Motor to work with the switch... I am looking up ways to fix it. YouTube and Google helps A LOT. Thanks to the people who made those apps.

REFLECTION 16.0

This week I didn't learnt any new dishes however I cooked some of the dishes that I had already learned. So i would call this week a review week and I think every once in awhile I will have a week dedicated to practicing what I already learned. Therefore over the past few days I cooked an omelette/ egg, roasted chicken, and fried turkey, the egg\omelette,and roasted chicken came out well. However the fried turkey was less to be desired. It had more taste that last time and I got through frying the whole batch no problem but it was still lacking a really good taste that my mom usually puts on it. Overall I think this week did well to reinforce my memory and give me more experience.

Reflection #16

This week for my 20% time project i was able to take two of my friends out to work out with me. I actually like working out in the hotter weather that most people find uncomfortable. I just like getting a good sweat when i work out. I also really like how it feels once i get to take a shower after that good workout. I learned some more park exercises and i taught my friends how to do them. I made some new meals and found out about some small tasty snacks. I feel more comfortable now. it finally feels like i am getting used to this.

Reflection #15

This week for my 20% time project I was able to drink four bottles of water and I was also able to do my workouts outside. I love working out outside and i am so happy that it is actually warm enough to do so. I look forward to another week of getting in shape in the great outdoors. I was also able to make some tasty meals on the grill. This warm weather has given my project a nice twist and i am very excited to keep it moving.

REFLECTION 16.0

This week I developed my technical cooking skills while learning how to cook pancakes. Essentially my mother has taken me on to be her cooking pupil so whenever she cooks I usually tag along. For this week's dish, pancakes, me and my mother gathered the ingredients and put them together in a bowl. Then my mom taught me how to mix the ingredients and I got experience in mixing pancake batter. Once the ingredients was dissolved together I put it in the frying pan and cook my pancakes. The pancakes came out quite good and it tasted fantastic. This experience of cooking pancakes helped me develop my frying and mixing abilities. In the future, I hope to do  Additionally, next week I plan on doing an egg/omelette and the frying experience will come in handy when cooking said omelette.

New Reflection #16

This week, I started my PowerPoint presentation. I haven't chosen the song that I'm going to play for the class yet. I should have it picked by the end of the week. Even though I don't know what song I'm going to play, I am still covering the basics with scales and notes. I'm going to put more emphasis on the specifics once I am able to break the song down into its key components.

Reflection 16

This week I continued to work on the presentation, fixing blog posts and cementing the powerpoint. Reflecting on my semester of working on blog posts, I learned multiple things, which I'll reveal in the powerpoint. Most of all though, I had genuine fun with the projects, even as I got progressively lazier as time progressed. I was able to research things that I loved, and learn more about things that are important. I became a better writer and researcher, things that will serve me well moving forward. All in all, I'm happy I chose the skill that I chose.

Week-16

The past week was very busy for me so I didn't do much origami. I really have to keep practicing so I can complete my goal before the end of this project. This week I did start to work on the actual presentation of my project. I'm still working on the exact style of my presentation, but I am still excited to actually present everything I've been doing this past semester.

Reflection 16

I think I'm set! I've just finished uploading all of my pending baking blog posts and have been thinking about my presentation. I have brainstormed things to do and how I have grown, and started the powerpoint. I plan to try baking macaroons this week to see if I should bring them in next week for the presentation. I didn't bake anything this week but I feel comfortable and accomplished in what I have learned. I will definitely continue baking after this and use everything I took from this 20% Time. I'm excited to see how the food I bake will turn out for presentation day!

Reflection 16

I feel pretty accomplished. So I finished the whole back part of my sweater. I was really ready to give up on it because I thought knitting the part at the neck would be hard but my mom helped me out and showed me how to do it and I finally got to finish that part. Now I'm still working on the front, like I was before. I'm almost done with that, and then I'm gonna have to put them together, but I think I can do it before presentations. I realized that I was doing a completely different stitch than the one on the instructions, my mom actually pointed it out. Honestly at this point, I could not care less. It doesn't matter, it still looks pretty decent. Not nice enough to wear, but decent.

Reflection Week 16

I basically have everything I want in my vision book. All I have to do is actually put those things in my vision book. I also have to print more of my blog posts. I haven't created a lot of blog posts this semester, but I plan on including the blog posts I created the first semester in my book.
