Week 16

Well this week I've taken a break. I focused on the presentation aspect of my project. I did some strength training though. I also ran a quick 2 miles today just to keep running and keep the feeling of running alive. I also have been pretty good with the diet plan. Besides the coffee, and it being midterm week, I've been drinking water only , with lemon for some good all natural
Vitamin C. Also since it snowed I didn't feel like running but the shoveling was exercise enough.
I'm so glad I took on this project. It's unbelievable to think I've come so far. I didn't expect it, I didn't think I've had it in me. I can't wait til my marathon and look forward to continue growing in anyway running helps me grow (bettering my time management, continuing my diet plan, muscle tone , etc).

Final Reflection #16

Well, I almost forgot to do this again but luckily I remembered. This will be my last reflection for my 20% Time Project. At first, learning German was difficult as it would be for learning any other language. But as I progressed and practice more, it became easier to understand and memorize. I  now understand the difficulties other people go through to learn a new language. I also learned planning skills to balance between things this project and other school work which was hard. Although it was hard to learn, I really had fun do this project and I look forward to doing it again

Reflection 16

Well I completely forgot I even had to do this, but I guess this is it, my final reflection. I actually really enjoyed these past few months, and I'm really proud of myself for accomplishing my goal. I learned how to knit and I made my own scarf to wear. I'm so glad that I chose knitting as my project because I found something that I actually really like to do. It's something that I'd like to continue with next semester and maybe make something even better. I learned a lot about patience, practice, and time management that I'll definitely use in other parts of my life. It's been real.

Final Reflection Week 16

This is my last and final week for my 20% Time Project. I have had a great time with working on this project. I met so many new people, friends, work out partners, and so many others especially during the Pink Run. I also plan on running in the Color Run with my friends and family in this year to come. I need to decide however if I am going to continue this during the second half of the semester or not. I enjoyed this project but I would like to expand my interests in the second half of the 20% Time Project. Thank you very much for introducing this project to me.

Reflection 15

So this marks one of my last weeks for my 20% time project. I'm still working on my Mile Run however to get me ready for Spring Track. My diet plan is still doing me good and I plan to keep working during Spring Track and even after Spring Track.

Reflection Week 16

Christian

In the beginning stages of the 20% Time Project, I often felt confused as to what I should do next. Whether I should go out and take a few more pictures, or I should read up a little more on the functionality of my camera was beyond me. As the project progressed, I did too. Photography gave me a sort of schedule to go by. I made sure I had time to pursue photography at least once a week, every week. By doing that, I had to plan around other things such as schoolwork, sports, and time to myself. I learned to put aside some time for all of those things, and so far, it has made Junior year a whole lot easier!
(Sorry for late submission, saved but not published...)

Final Reflection

Whether this gets credit or not is beyond the point. I feel an obligation to do this, even if I am late. Which is story of my life. Being frank, if I knew what I know now about 5 months ago, I wouldn't have undergone this skill. It really wasn't nearly as rewarding as I thought it would be. I had false visions going into the whole process; that I'd pick up really fast, that I'd be proficient at it, etc. But really, it was just overwhelming, tedious, and hopeless at times. What I wouldn't give up from the whole experience was how much I learned about the entire music making process. The knowledge I have now helps me further appreciate the beautiful music my favorite artists make, and that's priceless to me. It's even change the way I completely hear music at times; I'll notice sounds I never thought much of before, imagine the creation of the song, listen for finer details. This project held shine a light on all the incredible complexities involved in making a song. Going forward, I want something that for better or worse, tangible benefits and products would be easier to see and make.

Final Reflection

During this 20% time, I have been able to learn a lot and reflect on the process more than the final product. However, it was still nice to finally have a tangible product to show my classmates about what I have been dedicating my time to. During the presentation, it was very funny and special to see the reactions of the viewers and the engagement my classmates had after I presented my process. The lessons I’ve learned in this project such as having backup plans, time management, and being creative will help me in the future. It was a rewarding experience. For my future 20% time I hope I can learn as much as I did for this one.

Reflection 15

The last few stages of putting my animation together has been more stressful as my files have been crashing and none of my plans are working. Plan A was to just use subtitles, but then I reverted to Plan B of inserting clips of myself into the story to make it flow. When Animatron did not work or support the video I had to revert to Plan C of using voiceovers to still include that spice of my storytelling aspects. I'm glad I was able to think of methods to fix the new problems that arises from unexpected situations. An important skill I learned from being a leader to always think quickly on your feet, think of new methods that are available, and always prepare in advance. it became very evident in this project because my first goal changed so many times in order to meet the final product. I'm very excited to show this in my presentation.

Final Reflection

This 20 percent time project was actually really fun, and I was able to achieve my goal. I learned how to HTML code even better than I thought I would. I was able to make a website I'm really proud of. I learned a lot about myself and how I need to work on time management. Although I did have fun with HTML coding, I don't think I would continue with this for next semester. I'm not sure how I would be able to change it up and keep it interesting for the next presentation. I am glad that I was able to do this 20 Percent time project and I cant wait for the next semester.

Final Semester Reflection

This 20% Time project has been a great experience for me. Playing the guitar was a really fun activity that I will for sure continue to do. My original goal was to learn how to play guitar and also show a final video of me playing a song, but in the end it leaned more towards playing the one song. Although my project had its ups and downs, like a wrong start, poor planning, and procrastination, I still did reach my goal in the end. I at first didn't have the motivation to keep going, but in the end I did find true enjoyment in playing guitar and plan to keep it that way. I can now successfully play Wonderwall by Oasis so now I feel like I can play anything (on my level haha). This 20% was great and so I'm looking forward to the next.

FINAL SEMESTER REFLECTION

My  20% time goal was to be able to cook 4 meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I have not been able to achieve this goal, however I feel as though it is on the right course for success. The foods that I have learned up until now can serve as a good basis to expand upon and create a lot of different variations of. For instance white rice has endless potential because of all the different stews I can learn to create to eat with it. Therefore, if I choose to continue cooking as my 20% time project I can still reach my goal without any issue. Hopefully, I will make this decision by the conclusion of next week.

Final Semester Reflection

My 20% goal was to create a blog post for two days out of the week every week until it was time to show our presentation to the class. I usually made one post out of the week, but I did have some week where I created two. WordPress has been a great platform for me to share my opinions on things happening currently, and I'm glad I got to use it. Although I was sometimes nervous about sharing my work with others, gaining positive feedback was really important to me and I really appreciated it. I felt good about my presentation; I got to share my progress with the class. I will most likely continue blogging for the next 20% project, since it will be helpful in my future career.

Final Semester Reflection

Final Reflection

My project is to learn how to braid, install, and style hair. I am overall happy with my end result and overall glad that I got to learn how to install a weave. I enjoyed this project. In the beginning, I thought this project was a joke and I was going to freestyle it, but when I got to work, I was having fun and learning some new things. My favorite part of the project was definitely braiding and I also liked presenting m results. The presentation boasted my confidence and I was just glad that I got to show my class and friends and family that I can do anything I put my mind to and I would also like to show this skill next time. Looking to the next half of the year, I do not know what I would like to do, but I would like to step more out of my comfort zone. I worked on hair this time and that is something I already had a little experience with and knew I would be okay with it. Watching the other students presentations so far, I would like to learn a language, but I would also like to learn something no one has done yet. Thanks for this experience....

My Final Reflection

I guess this is finally over. Technically, I didn't learn anything, I just built off of what I already did. I chose to exercise more for my 20% Time Project. At the beginning of this project, I really hoped to decrease my mile time. That was the main goal I set for myself. Four months later, I've successfully managed to decrease my mile time from 7 minutes 5 seconds to 6 minutes and 34 seconds. It was easy, but I managed to finish the goal I set for myself. It isn't something I'd want to continue next semester. I found lots of mistakes that I could fix, but its just not something that I feel would interest me for another 4 months. This 20% Time Project was great, and I feel that I've really benefited from it.

Week 15

Well last week I reached my goal so I continued taking it easy. I peaked at 6 miles , nothing crazy. I mainly went to the gym, did strength training which I haven't done in a while. I don't have time for cardio now that midterms and projects are coming up. So strength training is easy because even if I don't go to the gym I can do a few exercises. Plus it helps build muscle.
I found a new diet plan I want to try out. It'll be difficult but I think I'm up for it. All organic. I'm excited to run the full 13. However with the upcoming snow storm I don't think I'll be able to this week. Maybe in a week.

Reflection Week 15

Though I failed to finish the video by the deadline for C-SPAN's StudentCam project, I still would to finish it somehow. Fortunately, I have excerpts from videos and other forms of information that I can present in class. When I started off with this project, which took my awhile to actually start, I knew that the Citizens United was a complex and important court case, but now I know even more about it and the parts that make it up. One interesting thing that I learned is that Hillary Clinton, who is leading in national polling in the 2016 Democratic Primaries, takes advantage of what the majority in Citizens United ruled. The lobbying group Citizens United created a political documentary about Hillary Clinton during the 2008 Democratic Primaries, and it was shown on television within thirty days of the first elections of the Primary. The distribution of the film was in violation of §203 of the Bipartisan Campaign Reform Act (BCRA).

Reflection #16

This is it! The last reflection for my 20% time project. I really enjoyed doing this project. It is a great idea to finally learn how to do something that you have been interested in, and have it count for school. I love that we were able to do this project. I felt that it really gave each and everyone of us a chance to express ourselves. My project was definitely time consuming, but it was also loads of fun! Not only was it a stress reliever, but in my busy life, it was also a nice time to have to myself. I was not able to complete as many pages as I would have liked by the presentation date, but I am definitely proud of my book. It is organized, pretty, and overall, just a great representation of who I am. I wish I had more time to dedicate to this hobby. Scrapbooking has always been something that I wanted to do and now I can. I definitely want to finish it. I learned a lot through videos and pictures online. It is easy to learn but not easy to do. You have to put a lot of love into it. This was a very expensive project. Thank God my mother is a crafty woman. If she was not, I would have spent a lot more money than I did. I recommend this hobby to everyone that is willing to put the time, effort, and love into it. It is a beautiful thing and it is also something really nice to look back at when you are older. It is a beautiful book filled with precious memories. It makes a great gift too! I just love scrapbooking and I am so happy that I chose to learn how to do it as my 20% time project!

Reflection #15

At this point I have managed to finish the page that I dedicated to my father. I think this is just about as far as I am going to get with my scrapbook before it is time to present it. I really thought that I was going to get more done but that is as far as I am going to get. I  am very proud of my scrapbook. It is very organized. I figured that it was not going to be finished because scrapbooks are on going projects that you can always add on to. I cannot wait to show everyone what an amazing hobby scrapbooking is. I really love doing it. It is time consuming but it is a lot of fun. I recommend this hoppy to everyone that is willing to put the time into it because it truly is a beautiful hobby.

REFLECTION QUINCE

This week I finally started walking again and was ready to get back to action. Therefore I proceeded to learn how to cook to steak with my mother. Firstly me and mother cleaned the steak, then we continued to add spices, onions, etc into the steak. Afterwards we cooked the steak and when the steak was almost done we added barbecue sauce while putting the stove on simmer to let the sauce sink in to the steak. Then, me and my mother cooked mashed potatoes and to go with the steak. All the foods turned out great and was really fantastic to eat. All that is needed at this point is some more experience preferably cooking it by myself in order to ensure I will not be reliant on my mother.

Reflection #15

This week, I learned how to zahlen (to count) in German. It was strange learning how to count again especially in another language. I reviewed only the first eleven numbers on the number line. Learning numbers 0-10 set the foundation for counting double and triple digit numbers. It was harder than I thought learning simple numbers because there are pronunciations in German that we don't have in English. For instance, the zw- or sch- in numbers like zwei or sechs (2 & 6). For me, these were hard to remember.

Reflection 15

IT'S OVERRRRRRRRR YAY. I'm not good with obligations to be honest, so this is a bit liberating. it's really something I should get better at, because obligations are important. I barely even put on pants anymore in the morning...

Anyway, looking back on this project, well, it was fun. I'll talk about it in the presentation a bit, but I appreciated this project not as much for what it taught me to physically do but for what it taught me about music as a whole. It really did influence the way I hear beats and understand the entire music making process. I have a new appreciation for the producers who make the hit songs we all love, and can follow the basics and understand the premise of why they did what they did, and how they went about doing it.

This weekend, I worked on finishing up my presentation, which I'm happy about, and I look forward to having a nice surprise. it was fun while it lasted honestly, and I'm excited to share all I learned.

Reflection 15

Looks like it's been the last week and I'm proud to say I've finished Wonderwall! I've practiced really hard and all I have left to do is finish planning out my presentation and filming my video. I'm excited yet nervous to showcase my amateur guitar skills to the world during the presentation. I still need to brush up a bit with a little practice and I'll be ready to go. I can't believe it's already Week 15. Half a school year gone already and so it's time to show the class what I've learned.

Reflection Week 15

Well it seems like this is going to be my last weekly reflection before I round up my entire year. I haven't changed anything this week, simply because I feel that what I've been doing is actually good for me and I really like my schedule. Now on  to my schedule for this week. I preformed my Cardio exercises Monday and Friday, my Strength training Tuesday and Saturday, and my flexibility training on Thursday.

Sunday, January 17, 2016

Reflection 15

I finally finished my scarf! I'm so happy with how it turned out and I'm actually really excited for presentations next week. I had to learn one last thing to finish it and that was casting off. I really like how it looks, but the only thing is that it's a lot heavier than I thought it was going to be. Oh and it also sheds a little bit, so I'm not really sure about wearing it because its going to end up all over my clothes. Anyway, I started working on my powerpoint presentation and I think it looks pretty good so far. I'm planning on including some of the basics and also a lot of pictures. I'm gonna try to take advantage of this long weekend and finish it up tomorrow. Hopefully everything works out.

Reflection 15

This week, I made my presentation for the midterm. I know the content is the most important but I really like how my presentation looks and that is making me feel good about the whole thing. I decided to give some background, and then add three sections to teach the class. The first is the alphabet so they can sign their names, the second is question words, and the third is som basic phrases for introductions. I am excited to show the class what I have learned, but I am a little bit nervous I will forget the signs I want to teach when I am presenting. I need to keep practicing, and hopefully that will build my confidence up.

Reflection #14

My project is to learn how to braid, install, and style hair. This week, I have been focused on the actual presentation. I have collected all the pictures and videos I have made during the entire process.
I have also requested that my sisters come over this weekend so I can take more pictures and videos of styling with an actual person. A presentation was put together using slide carnival and google slides. It is probably the prettiest presentation I have ever made and it makes sense because my project is about beauty and using hair to enhance your natural beauty. I also, finished braiding the foundation and will make my hair installation video and styling video on Sunday.

Reflection #13

This week, I learned how to use pronouns. I've actually been wanting to learn pronouns for quite a while. It was hard to get someone's attention when you don't know their name and can't identify them properly. But now its is easier to call for someone. Now I plan to take the more grammatical route to learning the German language.

Reflection Week 15

Christian

This week I started to work on my midterm presentation for the 20 Percent Time project. It’s really interesting to go back and look at all of the different pictures I’ve taken throughout the first half of the school year. It’s funny to look at the pictures from the beginning and how they show exactly what I try to avoid when I currently take pictures. So far, the PowerPoint effectively shows the progress I made by putting together a sequence of different pictures and showing their best attributes and worst flaws. As the PowerPoint goes on, the attributes get better and the flaws become smaller. The PowerPoint will also have side-by-side comparisons of two or more different pictures of the same object to reflect how a little change in settings can make a huge difference in the picture. I’m having fun making this presentation, and I hope the class will enjoy what I have in store.

Reflection Week 15

This week I created two blog posts Since I only created one last week, I'm glad I got back on track and created two like I was supposed to. 20 Percent Time is almost over and I can say that I'm satisfied with my final outcome. I haven't told my family that I made some blog posts recently, so I'll have to tell them so I can get their feedback. Most of the time, their responses are positive. I did however, want to make a touchup on the first blog I wrote this week, because I didn't like how I worded a lot of things after looking back at it.

Reflection #14

This week, I learned learned the name of pieces of technology. I figured since I go to AIT that knowing the names of parts in German may come in handy someday. Most of the names I learned were again the same in English like hardware, computer, and software. Also, there were some words with same pronunciation but different spelling like mouse, compatible, and cable. Now I can start helping people with their IT problems in two languages now.

Reflection Week 14

This was a pretty difficult week for me. Because of an abundant amount of projects and tests, I didn't really have the time to work on my 20% time project. This week I was only able to exercise three separate days. I did some Strength training on Wednesday, some Aerobic Cardio on Friday, and some flexibility training on Sunday. I'll have to make up what I lost next week.

Monday, January 11, 2016

REFLECTION CATORCE

This week I did not learn how to cook any new foods due to my doctor's recommendation that I rest in bed over the weekend. I normally learn new meals and practice already known meals during the weekend. Therefore since I had to stay in bed this weekend I was not able to to cook the steak I really wanted to cook. I am pushing my appointment with steak to next week because doctor said I should be on my feet by then.

Week 14

Well. I did it. I know I could've reached my goal about a week ago but I've been waiting. I did 13.5 miles. That's .4 miles over my goal. I finally reached it today on my long run. And I am tired. I'm achy and tired. I'm in bed knowing that waking up in the morning I'll feel like an 80 year old.

Saturday was a very fun run. I ran in the rain and I wanted to keep going forever. It was a fulfilling run. Also gave me a good reason to break out my neon yellow running sweater. It has a right hoodie that made me feel like I'm wearing a swimmers cap but it was surprisingly very comfortable.

I am ecstatic. Three months ago if you told me I'll be able to run a half marathon I would have laughed. I am so happy. This isn't just a goal I've reached and now can stop. I'm addicted to running , and I think this is a life long commitment, a change.

BUT I still have to work on the diet change. weekends come along and I just lose all control. I had so much Italian food. Every 3 hours I had a different Italian meal I kid you not. I had chicken and eggplant parm at 3:30 in the morning. It's just not good for me and I know I'll have to change that. Slow and steady.

Reflection Week 14

As the dead line approaches, I started the process of editing parts of videos that would work well for my project. I noticed two things: one, my editing skills are not the best and two, it is hard to find shorter segments on my topic. Luckily, through practice I think my editing should improve over time. However, finding 20 to 45 seconds long segments on something as complex as the Citizens United case can sometimes come off as vague. In oral argument, most of the justices give concrete, short answers, while the lawyer usually give long, complicated answers. Also, trying to give a holistic view of my topic and the case surrounding it has made me narrow down the aspects of the problem I wish to address in my video compilation.

Reflection 14

This week I got a lot done. I tuned my new new guitar and got to work! I've successfully learned the intro and have moved on to learning the verses. It's not too bad because it repeats the same chords but the strumming pattern changes throughout the verses. I've been practicing almost everyday and make sure to let my fingers readjust to the chords and amount of time I have to hold down the strings. I know all the chords to play now, but I just need to master the strumming patterns for the song. I hope that I will be able to finish the song, and I will try my best to practice everyday. I am progressing through the song smoothly as of now and hope np problems come up to interfere since there is little time left. Wish me luck!

Reflection 14

Nothing new happened this week because most of the planning and gathering data has been completed. I'm in the editing phase of the video and everything is coming together. The project has varied widely from the product I first envisioned 3 months ago, but I am not upset about this change. The final product captures the different skills I've put into the video and showcases the differences hats that I had to wear to make this project work as a one woman team. hope you guys will like it. I think the lessons I learned during this 20% time was more beneficial than the skill I gained from character animation.

Reflection 14

This week, I started preparing for my midterm presentation. I will not be able to do the entire presentation, which I realize now was a pretty lofty goal. That being said, I am proud of myself for my progress. I am nervous to give the presentation but excited to share what I have learned, and I am thinking I might include some things to teach the class that I now know. I think the most obvious choice would be to teach the alphabet so everyone can sign their name, but I also want to think of something a little more different or unexpected.

Reflection Week 14

This week on my blog I only created one blog post. I started to work on the second one for this week, but I had a lot of quizzes and tests to study for as well as projects to complete. I doubt I'll be able to create two next week since I have an even busier week. Despite my busy week, this project is almost coming to a close and I want to accomplish my goal and create two blog posts out of the week.

Reflection #14

For the rest of this week I was able to complete another page as I originally planned so time was finally less of an issue. The due date is almost here. I am trying to get as much done as I possibly can but one thing I do want to mention is that I am not going to have it finished because a scrapbook is an ongoing project. It is something that is never really done and that you can always add to. So, I think that it is pretty cool that as a result of this project I have something really nice and full of memories that I can look back on when I am 80 years old. It will be something really nice to share with  my grandkids in the future. I am really happy that I chose to make a scrapbook as my 20% time project. I have learned a lot and realized that I am pretty good at it. Who knows, I might just make another one that has another story. I love scrapbooking. It is a great stress reliever and I cannot wait to present my project to the rest of my class.

Reflection 14

I can't say this week was perfect, but it was better than last week. I found some time to continue working on my scarf in the beginning of the week but I haven't finished yet. Anyway, I was pretty excited to work on it in school on Thusday until I got sick. I stayed home Thursday and Friday and you would think that I'd have a whole lot of time to work on my scarf right, but to be honest those two days were a blur. I basically just slept through them because with my fevers, I did not want to get out of bed. I feel so much better now, and I'm ready to finally finish this project. I'm pretty proud of the way my scarf has turned out so far and I can't wait until I can show everyone the end result.

Reflection #14

I'm happy to say that my website is almost done. I still have some finishing touches to do, but I am not worried because it is mostly for the aesthetic of the page. I may add in a few more pictures or change the color of the background, but nothing major. I am just glad that my website is almost finished! This week I plan on making those last changes and begin working on the actual presentation of my 20% time project.

Friday, January 8, 2016

Reflection #14

So far for my 20% time project this week, I was able to complete another page. I am running low on double sided tape so I am going to have to go get some more at A.C. Moore this weekend. Double sided tape is the best way to paste the pictures on to the pages of the scrap book. If you use glue, the page will get wrinkly/wavy and so will the page itself. the double sided tape keeps it looking neat and sticks so well to the paper. I definitely do not have to worry about it peeling off. I am hoping to complete another page this weekend and hopefully I can. Time is really not my friend right now but I am pushing through!

Reflection 13

Over this break, I have not done as terribly as I though I would. Although I did take a bit of a break from running (because I was busy running around preparing for Christmas) I took a good 4 days off. I'm happy to say it didn't affect me too much. I took it easy, after all it is break. I averaged about 6 miles per day with my peak of 12 on Sunday. The days I didn't run, you could find me in the gym doing strength exercises. For Christmas I received running gear -- a neon yellow hoodie that I very much needed. It will keep me warm without over heating me. I look forward to using it and breaking it in.

My shoes are starting to feel uncomfortable. I think I over-broke them in. I'll need to invest in a new pair soon.
My diet wasn't too skewed this break although Christmas foods and other delicacies are not exactly healthy. However, I recovered after a few days. I'm excited at the progress I've made and even plan on joining a real half marathon.

Reflection #13

My project is to learn how to braid hair, install, and style hair. This week I have been practicing styling hair. I learned two new ways to curl hair without using heat. Well, I already knew about bantu knots which is a style where the hair is wrapped around itself. It is complicated to explain, but Miley Cyrus is now popular for them, even though they have been popular in the African American community, they became more popular after she wore them (picture 1). The way she wore them are not how we use them in the African American community though. Bantu knots are used as a protective style since heat is not necessary (picture 2). The second style that I am just learning about is called flexi rods (picture 3). Flexi rods can be used on wet or dry hair and they are another protective way to style. My sister got flexi rods for Christmas and asked me to use them to curl her hair. So, I did. Her hair was dry and already straight so it came out more like the 4th picture. I was not able to get a picture because after she went to track practice the curls were gone and she was in desperate need of a straightening. So, I straightened her hair. The plus of wearing weave is that no matter how many times you straighten the weave, it is not your real hair and it will not destroy it. Furthermore, now that the 20% project is coming to an end, I need to start looking for actual hair to put in the doll's hair. I still need to learn how to sew in, but I have watched my sister's friend do it a while ago so I am not hesitant. Next week, I will finish up the physical project and begin the presentation aspects of the requirements.

Reflection Week 14

My reflections for week 13 and week 14 are kind of similar. I plan on going to the YMCA most days this week as I did on Sunday and Monday. It is hard however trying to balance this project and my shifts at work, but I am a hardworking young man so I will try my best to make it happen. I am still going strong with my diet plan cutting off all junk foods and sticking to fruits, water, and veggies.

Reflection Week 13

This was probably one of the hardest weeks to maintain the workouts for my 20% time. I was so clustered with spending time with my family and mostly the whole break I had to work. I usually work the night shifts at my job and whenever I come back in I would fall right to sleep. I would try to take early morning jogs but it would be so cold! However, I did find some time to make it to the YMCA and workout a little bit there. While being there I also took some videos to include into my powerpoint for the midterm project.

Reflection #13

This week for my 20% time project I was able to add on some more details throughout my book and put in things that I missed when I made those pages the first time. One thing I really enjoy doing is putting in stickers wherever I can. They bring so much life into the scrap book. Through out my scrapbook journey I have definitely spent A LOT of money! I really did not think it would be as costly as it has been, but it is. Luckily my Mother is a member at A.C. Moore so i was able to get materials for a much lower price and it still ended up being a costly project. At first it does not seem like much but after you start, the numbers really start to pile up. The break definitely gave me a chance to get a lot done. I was able to print and stitch in a couple of more photos. One thing I really love is the fact that one day in the future, I will be able to look back at all of the wonderful memories in my scrapbook and say "Wow, I remember those good old days".

Reflection Week 14

Christian

This week, I had a hard time getting back into the swing of things after break. Almost all of my teachers started piling projects and homework back onto me and I’ve been struggling to keep up with everything, so I haven’t had as much time for photography as I’d like. In the little free time I had, I just tried to edit some photo I already took, but while I was editing I remembered the initial goal that I set at the beginning of the project. The goal was to capture pictures that grab people’s attention without the power of editing. After I remembered what I had wanted at first, I closed the software and had a new drive to find something special.

REFLECTION TRECE

Over winter break I found that I had a lot of time to really practice and learn. However, I felt physically and mentally exhausted due to the pressures of school and soccer practice. Therefore, I practiced a little bit by cooking a few meals I knew how to do however I did not learn to cook any new meals. Overall, I used this break to rejuvenate myself for when I returned to school and I feel fantastic. Next week, I plan to take this new energy and learn how to cook steak.

Reflection Week 13

To start off as usual, I didn't do anything different this week, so now on to the part that I talk about my plan this week. Since I don't have a personal gym in my house, I decided to only do strength training on Monday, and leave the rest of the days for cardio. I did Anaerobic Cardio on Tuesday and Friday, Aerobic Cardio on Saturday and Wednesday, and the usual flexibility training on Sunday. Although this week's reflection was short, it's because I was on break so I didn't feel like changing anything.

Reflection 13

This winter break was very productive. I was able to do a lot to make my website better. It was very simple and basic, so I took the time to make it more complicated and interesting. I am much more happy with my progress now that I have made these changes and I am excited to see the final product. I've actually stopped using CodeAcademy because of these changes and I am currently working on Notepad. It makes things easier because I can quickly go back and forth between files instead of trying to fit all of my code on one file. My main goal was to challenge myself and really learn about HTML coding and I finally feel like I am getting close to achieving that goal.

Reflection 13

Looks like winter break has come to an end. I'm extremely disappointed in my lack of practice because I was in California during the entire break without a guitar. Turns out my cousin threw away his guitar recently so I had nothing to play. However, I received a brand new full sized guitar for Christmas from my parents so I'm excited to use it! Now I can return my friend's guitar and use my own. There's only a month left so I REALLY need to get to work or else I'm afraid I might not accomplish my goal.

Reflection Week 13

This week I did not create any blog posts. For the first couple of days I had to work on a project, but I should have worked on creating blog posts for the remaining days, no excuses. I haven't created a blog post in twelve days, and my goal for twenty percent time was to create a blog post for two days out of the week. This week I'll definitely be working on writing more.

Reflection 13

Over break I didn't spend as much time knitting as I thought I was going to. I picked it up like once but didn't get very much done. I was pretty busy over break and I was hardly home, which is also one of the reasons why I'm stuck doing a ton of homework today but whatever that's another story. I'm starting to worry that I'm not going to get the scarf done before the midterm because its actually a lot more work than I thought it was going to be. I'm going to try to find more time to work on it. When I get it to be as long as I want, I'll have to learn how to end it. I know there's a specific way to tie it off but I haven't gotten there yet. I'll probably look up some videos or ask my mom about it. We'll see how this goes.

Reflection Week 12

Over the break I spent a lot of time at home so I worked a bit on my sign language. I watched more tutorials and went through some of the learn ASL in 30 days videos. I am still sticking with PSE, but since the signs for ASL and PSE are the same, I watch some ASL videos too. I just don't watch the ASL tutorials that include grammar, because that is the main difference. Over break I saw my aunt who is becoming a certified ASL interpreter, and I told her about this project. She thought it was really great tat I was learning sign language, and I showed her some of what I know so far. She was impressed, which made me feel better about my progress.

Reflection #12

My project is to learn how to braid hair, install, and style hair. Happy Holiday everyone, I hope you all enjoyed your break and sadly it is coming to an end. For the New Year, my sister and a few of her friends got their hair done and wanted me to style their hair. I enjoyed doing it. I practiced straightening and curling. Also, I removed my friend's weave. Over the break, I got bored and did a lot of braiding. I completed the circle I started last class and did other styles. I was playing around and put cornrows to different styles (like a bun, half-up half-down, braids on the side). And I did not get a hair doll for xmas, maybe because it was not on my Christmas list.
