Reflection Week 7

This week, I started learning colors. Ironically, the YouTube channel I have been watching had just uploaded a Signed  English translation of a song called Colors too, so I figured I might as well try to do that too. Coffeehouse was this week and one of the performances was Misery Business, which was the first song that I learned. I was on tech crew for the show, so every day backstage during rehearsal and the show I signed it to my friends while it was going. That was pretty cool, and my friend who I have been updating on my progress with this project was backstage with me and said she was impressed that I am now much better at keeping up with the time, which made me feel good. I think I have worked through my frustration from last week. Understanding that the learning process is different has helped a lot. I went it to this project with expectations and I now know that I can't do that, because sign language is very different than anything I've learned in school before. Plus, the learning process is completely up to me, which is obviously different than having a teacher you see every other day and tests every few classes.
